We believe in showing respect, care, and love for all God’s children, especially the sick, aged, and infirm. We hope that, through the ministry our parish exercises at Ash Court care home, we reveal God’s love for all.
Ash Court is a residential nursing home for the elderly a few streets away from St Benet’s Church. Before the lockdown, we used to celebrate a Vigil Mass of Sunday there each week on a Saturday afternoon at 4.00 pm. This allowed the residents to share in worship following the same readings as would be heard in St Benet’s the next day on Sunday morning. A number of people from St Benet’s joined the residents for the service, which is open to all. We look forward to being able to visit our friends at Ash Court again once it is deemed safe to do so.
We pray that, although the residents of Ash Court find it difficult to leave their home, we will once again be able to bring the hope and joy of Christ to them through visiting them and worshipping together with them one day very soon.
