A number of activities and events are on offer through December at St Benet’s to help our children celebrate the birth of Christ.
Advent Messy Church
Friday 24th November 3.30 pm
Messy Church will take place on Friday 24th November in Kentish Town CE Primary School.
Messy Church is a time of fun, fellowship and worship intended to help children and parents worship together. There is a time of creativity with a number of activities on offer. This is then followed by a period f worship in which we reflect on what we have learned and discovered together. We then finish with a slap-up tea together and we continue to celebrate Christ’s present with us through the fellowship we share one with another.
Our theme this December will be preparing the way for Christ. There will be lots of activities to help our children enter into the beautiful mystery of the season. A special effort will be made to provide activities for our older Key Stage 2 children. As usual, Messy Church will finish with a slap-up tea at around 4.30 pm.
Advent Children’s Mass
Sunday 3rd December 11.00 am
On Advent Sunday our Parish Mass will be a Children’s Mass. On this occasion, there will be no Sunday school, but rather, all our children will remain in church for a liturgy specially designed to be more approachable and inclusive for them. The service will be shorter, and include simpler music which they know.
We will celebrate together the beginning of Advent – a time of expectation and hope as we look forward to the birth of Christ.
Christmas Crib Service
Sunday 24th December 4.00 pm
The night before Christmas, St Benet’s celebrates a short nativity service specially intended for younger children.
We enter afresh into the story of Jesus’ birth through song, story, and drama. The service is follow day festive refreshments.
