Money is a concern for everyone: rising energy bills, inflation and interest rates are putting the pressure on household finances. In the gospel this week, Jesus tells a parable to remind us that after death, wealth (or the lack of it) is irrelevant. That doesn’t mean we should ignore the bills; it does mean we should ask ourselves if we measure our self-worth by our bank balance. God doesn’t. Please pray for: The Faithful departed Harvest Barn Dance – Save the Date! The band is booked for this on Friday 7th October. Put the date in your diaries now for this popular parish event, details to follow. Looking ahead: On Sunday 23rd of October, Jonathan our Bishop will be coming to St Benet’s to offer the sacrament of Confirmation (and, if required, Baptism). Father Guy |
