Parish News: The Twenty-Fifth Sunday and Week of the Year

September 16, 2022 by Guy Willis

In the parable Jesus tells today, it is the dishonest steward who is praised. This seems peculiar. But the message is in the contrast between the subject of the parable – money – and true spiritual riches from God. We are challenged to ask ourselves who our real master is, but also to use all the gifts we have received wisely.

You can read the scriptures for this week here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Conor, Chinye, Adelida, Jason, Rod, Edny & John.

The Faithful departed
The repose of the soul of our late Queen, Elizabeth.
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s and those whose year’s mind falls this week.

The cover art is The Unjust Steward by Kazakh artist Nelly Bube.

The Harvest Barn Dance is on Friday 7th October, 6.45 to 10pm. £5 per adult, £2.50 per child. See Ernest to pay by cash or card or buy online: bit.ly/BarnDance22

Raffle Prizes Needed for the Barn Dance. It would be good to have a variety of prizes: bottles, toiletries, cakes, chocolates etc as well as vouchers for local businesses if you have the contacts! Offers to Father Guy please.

If you worship at St Benets join the electoral roll. Paper forms available from Fr Guy or by filling in the online form by clicking here.
