Parish News: The Octave Day and Second Week of Christmastide

It can feel like Christmas is all over as soon as the 25th of December has been and gone, but in fact our celebration has just begun. As with Easter, the feast continues for an ‘Octave’ – 8 days inclusive of the feast itself. So this Sunday is the Octave day of Christmas and on it we focus especially on the role of Mary, the Mother of God, who brought forth the Saviour.

Sunday school resumes next week on the 8th of January, but of course children and families are still very welcome. As on Christmas Day, some craft activies will be available in church.
