It has long been a tradition of the Western Church that on this third Sunday of Advent rose pink vestments are worn. That is because today the violet of penitence is mixed with the white of the approaching festival: Rejoice, the Lord is near! So as we look forward to the rejoicing of Christmas we are refreshed in our prepration of ourselves for the coming of Jesus. Please pray for: The Advent appeal is to support the local Saint Vincent de Paul charity who will help very needy families in our area with food vouchers for Christmas. We have already collected £334 as a share of the surplus generated by the wine tasting, and another £70 last Sunday. Let’s see if we can get to £500!
