Parish News: Corpus Christi and the Tenth Week of the Year

June 9, 2023 by Guy Willis

In the feast of Corpus Christi this Sunday, we give thanks to God for the great gift of the Blessed Sacrament; the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus that is present for us at every celebration of the Mass. It reminds us that when we come to church together for the mass, we are not only remembering Jesus but we are present with him, and he is present with us. By that daily and weekly encounter we are strenthened for our journey through this life on earth and prepared for the eternal banquet in heaven.

You can find the scriptures for this week here.

You can now donate using card online to support St Benet’s: every penny counts! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

Please pray for:

The sick and those in need
Brenda, Conor, Chinye, Victor, Mercy, Olga, John and Isaac.

The Faithful departed
The recently departed. All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s and those whose year’s mind falls about this time amongst them Laura Poolton (14th).

Could you give £10 towards the £95 cost of the bouncy castle?
Could you give £100 towards the £1000 cost of the music over the festival?
