Thus the last will be first, and the first, last. The end of the the Gospel set for this Sunday sounds positively revolutionary, and it is. But maybe not in the way it first appears: the parable shows that God gives to each not according to what we deserve but rather according to his overflowing generosity and grace. You can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: every penny counts! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank? This coming Saturday 30th September at 10am we are invited to join the people of St Pancras Old Church for a Choral Mass followed by drinks and brunch with talks about the recently completed restoration of that church. The annual Barn Dance returns on Friday 6th October 6.45pm to 10pm: We need prizes for the barn dance raffle which are suitable both for adults and for children. Donations can be dropped off after any mass. If anyone would like to donate stock for the bar, nibbles or to help fund the cost the band, please speak to Father Guy. The cover art this week is Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard by Johann Christian Brand, 1769. Held in the Akademie der bildenden Künste, Vienna. |
