The parable of the talents which we hear this week is in part a warning not to squander the gifts that we have been given. Rather we must seek to use what we have, materially, spiritually and relationally, both for our good and the good of others – and above all to God’s glory. That is because what we have is not ours by right, but by the gracious gift of he who is Lord of all. You can see the readings for this coming Sunday here.
