When the risen Jesus breaks bread with the disciples, they recognise him. We experience that same moment of encounter in the mass, where Jesus is present with his people through the breaking of bread. He is with us too in the scriptures – as he was with the disciples on the road to Emmaus. In response to God making himself available in this way, we should make meeting him in Word and Sacrament our first priority. You can find the readings for this coming Sunday here. From next Sunday Georges Iskandar will be joining us on placement. He is training for ordination. Please make him and his family welcome!
