Parish News: Twelfth Sunday and Week of the Year

June 21, 2024 by Guy Willis

When Jesus calms the storm he shows that he is God, for ‘even the wind and the sea obey him’. Yet although God has power over everything, he does not control us like puppets. He sets the world in motion but it is us who must care for it and likewise we must make the decisions about what we are going to do. Will we be guided by faith, or will we be frightened?

You can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: every penny counts! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

You can find the readings for this coming Sunday here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need

Brenda, Cordelia, Lolita, Reece and Vanessa.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s, the recently departed and those whose year’s mind falls this week.

Patronal Festival: can you help?
At the party on Sunday 14th July we need:
– Food and drink to share
– Volunteers to offer face painting for children
– Volunteers to supervise the bouncy castle

Donations to defray festival expenses would be very welcome. Could you give £10 towards the £95 cost of the bouncy castle? Could you give £100 towards the £1000 cost of the music over the festival?
