When Jesus calms the storm he shows that he is God, for ‘even the wind and the sea obey him’. Yet although God has power over everything, he does not control us like puppets. He sets the world in motion but it is us who must care for it and likewise we must make the decisions about what we are going to do. Will we be guided by faith, or will we be frightened?
