Parish News: Seventeenth Sunday and Week of the Year

July 26, 2024 by Guy Willis

We begin a series of readings from the sixth chapter of St John’s Gospel; the so called ‘bread of life’ discourses. In this week, the first excerpt, the miracle of the feeding of the 5000 is related. In it we find a truth about the abudance of sustenance tha we can find in the Blessed Sacrament – the bread of life that is made holy for us at each mass.

You can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: every penny counts! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

You can find the readings for this coming Sunday here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need

Brenda, Cordelia, Lolita, Reece, Vanessa, John, Hugh and Nathan.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s, the recently departed and those whose year’s mind falls this week, amongst them Barbara Sharples (4th).
