Parish News: Sunday of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

This Sunday we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin which marks the end of Mary’s earthly life and her assumption into heaven to be crowned by her son Jesus as Queen of Heaven. We give thanks to God for this great privilidge granted to her and ask that by her prayers and the merits of her Divine son we may join them there. 

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

During August there will be no weekday masses whilst Father Guy takes some holiday and helps lead a pilgrimage to Lourdes. Sundays will be as usual and weekday masses resume on Monday 1st September. Sunday 17th August, 6pm: All Saint’s Margaret Street, W1W 8JG. Solemn Evensong, Procession and Benediction for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 

Sunday 7th September, 6pm: St Cuthbert, Philbeach Gardens SW5 9EB. Solemn Evensong, Procession and Veneration of the Relics of St Cuthbert and St Carlo Acutis (on the day of his canonisation). 

Monday 8th September, 7pm: St Mary Brookfield, NW5 1SL. Solemn Mass for the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary followed by supper.

Friday 3rd October, 6.45-10pm: Harvest Barn Dance, here at St Benet’s.
