The “Daily Office” is a phrase used to describe the services of Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer, which take place every day at St Benet’s.
At the beginning and end of each day, we ring the bells of St Benet’s Church to signal to our local community that we are bringing them and their needs before God as part of the Church’s continual offering of prayer and praise.
Morning and Evening Prayer are made up of several readings from the scriptures. We begin by singing a hymn in praise of God, we recite psalms and canticles together, hear a reading from the Bible, and bring to God our intercessions. The morning office begins with a period of ten minutes’ silent prayer to help us still ourselves in God’s presence.
Whether you are able to attend or not, know that our whole community, and the world we live in, is being remembered and prayed for every day at St Benet’s Church.
