We are very pleased indeed to announce that in a recent inspection, Kentish Town CE Primary School was graded outstanding in all areas of RE teaching and the character of its Christian ethos. This is a great achievement and we offer the staff and children of our parish school many congratulations.
The RE teaching and Christian ethos of Church of England schools are inspected regularly according to a framework called S.I.A.M.S. (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools). These inspections look at four areas of a church school’s life: how the Christian ethos helps the needs of all learners in the school; the quality of RE teaching; the quality of collective worship; and how a school’s Christian ethos effects its management and governance. All four areas were given the highest possible mark by the inspectors.
The inspectors particularly commented on our school’s relationship with St Benet’s as being a great strength. We are pleased the inspectors have recognised the exemplary standards of teaching and learning which our school provides. It is a point of great pride for our whole parish community that the Christian ethos of our school has been seen to play a crucial role in making it an inclusive, loving, and caring learning environment.
