Tonight’s speaker: Fr Graeme Rowlands
Join us tonight for our Lent discussion group as we consider the interaction between our Christian faith and notions of sacred space, pilgrimage, and journey.
We will be joined by well-known pilgrimage conductor Fr Graeme Rowlands, parish priest of our neighbour parish S. Silas’, Kentish Town. He will particularly speak to us about Walsingham as we look forward to our pilgrimage to that holy place in June of this year.
The notion of pilgrimage has become a focus of much discussion and fascination in the media of late. We will consider why Christians go on pilgrimage, and what the experience tells us about the Christian life.
In addition to this, details will be released tonight of our planned pilgrimage to Benedictine sites in Italy in April 2016. We aim to travel to Rome, and spend a week exploring places associated with the life of St Benedict. In addition to three days of pilgrimage win Rome, we will visit Subiaco and Monte Cassino, where St Benedict first lived out the hermetical and monastic life, and also spend a day in Norcia, St Benedict’s birth place.
