St Benet’s will be participating in the Alpha course run by our neighbouring parish St Luke’s, Osney Crescent, from 7th October onwards. The course is an opportunity for any member of our parish community to explore the questions of life and to think more about the claims of the Christian faith.
All those preparing to receive the sacraments of baptism or confirmation from St Benet’s will be attending. It is also open to anyone who wants to renew their knowledge of the basics of the gospel, or who knows someone who wants to explore more the crucial questions of what life is all about.
We will meet every Wednesday evening at St Luke’s Church at 7 pm from 7th October until 25th November. There will be a meal and time to chat and get to know each other. There then follows a time of teaching and discussion. Each week looks at a different element of the Christian faith’s claims, or a key question to do with what it means to be human. Who was Jesus? What is the Holy Spirit is like? Why we were created? Why did Jesus die on a cross? No question is too stupid, or too radical, or too complicated.
If you are interested in coming, please be in touch with Fr Peter.
