Join us over our patronal festival weekend as we celebrate St Benedict’s Day on 9th July.
Messy Church – Friday 7th July
There will be Messy Church in school on Friday 7th July from 3.30 pm until 5 pm.
If you’ve never been to Messy Church before, it is a period of creativity, activities, worship, fellowship and food specially designed to help our children reflect on the world they live in and grow in faith. Parents are encouraged to remain with their children, and a team of trained volunteers from St Benet’s organise the workshops, worship, and food.
We will be thinking on 7th July about the life of St Benedict and celebrating what we can learn from his life. As always, our Messy Church will finish with a big tea party for everyone who has come!
St Benedict’s Day Mass – Sunday 9th July
On Sunday 9th July, we will have our annual St Benedict’s Day Celebration Mass at 11 am at St Benet’s Church. St Benedict is our parish’s and our school’s patron saint (“St Benet” is simply an old English abbreviation for “St Benedict”). Children from Year 6 will be contributing to the service, and there will be special Sunday School activities for younger children. The Mass on 9th July is followed by a barbecue with a bouncy castle and ice creams. All are welcome to come!
You are most welcome to join us at any or all of these events, as we give thanks for all God’s blessings over the past year and pray for our whole school and parish community over the next 12 months.
