Advent is the time to prepare our hearts for the joy of Christmas. Come and celebrate with us! We’d love to see you at our Messy Advent event on Friday 24 November at Kentish Town Primary School beginning at 3:30pm . We’ll have lots of fun with various activities, games, worship, and food to explore the time of advent.
What is Messy Church?
Messy Church is a different way of ‘being church’ It is an event for all the family, giving them a chance to get together and to be part of the local church; to find out about God, and His son, Jesus Christ, all in a fun way.
It’s play, it’s drama, it’s arts and crafts, it’s games, it’s eating together, it’s praying together. It’s messy!
What happens there?
All activities are available for children and adults to do together. We start at 3:30pm with a drink and an opening game whilst everyone is registered. We are brought together at 3:45pm to listen to the word of God before exploring the range of activities which help us to explore the theme. When we have finished exploring, we come back together for prayer and praise before enjoying a light tea of sandwiches and fruit before being sent out into the World with God’s blessing at 5pm.
Messy Advent
Advent means the arrival of a notable person or thing. For Christians this is Jesus Christ, the son of God. Advent brings anticipation; excitement builds as we wait for Jesus to come again, as he promised. Our Messy Advent event seeks to explore the themes of waiting and preparing for Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
