This week four of our young people will receive the sacrament of Confirmation, the special gift of the Holy Spirit given through the laying on of hands. Please come to mass to support them and to see Jonathan our bishop on his visit to us. Please support our Confirmation candidates at mass this Sunday. Pray for them as they prepare and please make every effort to be there. Please pray for: The Faithful departed Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, is the 2nd March and a day when all Christians should attend mass and receive the imposition of ashes if at all possible. There will be three opportunities here: 8.30am, 12 noon and 6.30pm, all with imposition of ashes. Have you ever wondered how it came to be that we worship God in the way that we do? Do you want to learn more about the mass? Bread of Heaven is our Lent Course this year – an opportunity to learn more about the meaning and history of the main act of Christian worship. It begins on Monday 7th of March at 7pm following the 6.30pm mass and runs for 5 weeks. Richard Arnold (Priest) RIP, died 10 years ago this year whilst Vicar of this Parish. For his anniversary on Wednesday the 16th of March there will be a Sung Mass of Requiem at 7pm followed by refreshments.
