Parish News: Trinity Sunday and Eleventh Week of the Year

June 9, 2022 by Guy Willis

God is the Most Holy Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a mysterious reality which is somewhat beyond our full understanding, yet it is how God is: a communion of love and splendour into which we are invited to live. That is the truth that we celebrate together this Sunday.

You can read the scripture readings for this Sunday here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Conor, Chinye, Adelida, Jason, Rod, Edny & John.

The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s and those whose year’s mind falls this week amongst them Laura Poolton (14th).

The Homezone festival on Lupton Street will take place on this Saturday 11th June. Details on the poster at the back of church.

The cover art this week is The Trinity in Glory a c. 1961 mural by Hans Feibusch in the church of St Alban the Martyr, Holborn EC1. Photograph credit Lawrence Lew, OP.

At 7pm on the 20th of June we are invited to St Alban’s Holborn (where Father Guy was ordained priest) for their Patronal Festival. There will be a huge 12 part choir, a homily from Bishop John Ford and a party afterwards. All welcome.
