Parish News: Third Sunday and Week of Easter

Having spoken for hours as they walk along the road, the disciples only recognise Jesus when he breaks bread with them. For us too the breaking of bread, the mass, can be a moment of recognition in which we see how Christ has been present to us in the rest of our lives. In the broken bread, the holy sacrament of the altar, we behold the fullness of his presence: body, soul and divinity.

The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s and those whose year’s mind falls this week.

Eastertide Fête. Saturday 29th April, 2pm to 4pm. Table top sale of homemade and unwanted new or nearly new items, with cakes and refreshments. All proceeds to parish funds. We need:
– volunteers to set up, serve and sell
– new or nearly new items for sale (homemade or unwanted)
– cakes baked

Home Zone Summer Gathering planning meeting, here at St Benets on Monday 24 April at 7 pm. To work out details for a summer gathering planned for Sunday 11 June (12 noon to 6 pm).
