Our cover art this week combines two of the themes of the month of May: the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Virgin Mary. In this month spring gets into full swing, flowers bloom and trees blossom. This has traditionally been associated with the joy and fruitfulness of Mary, the Virigin Mother of God and prompts us to give thanks for her. We are also looking forward to the day of Pentecost, on which the Apostles will receive that Holy Spirit by which Mary has already been blessed. The cover art this week is The Coronation of the Virgin by Velázquez (1635) held in the Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid. Lourdes Pilgrimage from 7th – 11th August this year.
