Weeds always grow up amongst the plants, as anyone with a garden or a window box knows too well. Jesus uses that fact as a way of explaining that we must live in the world alongside those who are both indifferent and downright opposed to the worship of God. The sorting will happen at the harvest; the end of time. We need to remember is that the judge is not ourselves, or public opinion, but God. |
