The wise men have come from the East to pay their homage to Jesus, bringing their gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. At the mass of the Epiphany this Sunday we bless chalk to be taken home and to be used to mark the doorways of our homes. It shows that we, like the wise men, welcome the Christ Child and ackowledge him as King of our lives. You can see the readings for this coming Sunday here. The cover art this week is The Adoration of the Magi by Leonardo da Vinci c. 1482 held in the Uffizi, Florence. |
