The season of Lent mirrors Jesus’ own period of fasting in the wilderness in preparation for his proclaimation of the Good News. Our time of fasting and preparation has the same purpose: to ready us to proclaim joyfully the resurrection on Easter Day. So we begin it with seriousness, but also in anticipation of the joy to come. You can find the readings for this coming Sunday here. Booking forms are now available for the Parish Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham; Friday 14th to Sunday 16th June 2024. Ask Father Guy. The cover art is Noah’s Thanksgiving after leaving the Ark by Domenico Morelli (1823–1901), held in the Dorotheum, Vienna. |
