Parish News: SS Peter and Paul and the Thirteenth Week of the Year

Saints Peter and Paul are two of the twleve apostles. Peter was the first Pope as Bishop of Rome. Paul was a missionary who travelled around preaching and wrote many letters to the congregations he founded which form part of the Bible. It is through them, and the other apostles, that we receive the Good News that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour.

Patronal Festival of St Benedict:
Wednesday 10th July 7.15pm: Organ recital by David O’Shea. The programme will include Bach, Mendelssohn and Couperin.

Thursday 11th July 7pm: High Mass and Procession of the Relic of St Benedict. Preacher: Father Kyle McNeil SSC, Vicar of St Mary, Horden.

Sunday 14th July 11am: Pontifical Mass of St Benedict with Baptism and Confirmation. Preacher: Jonathan our Bishop. Followed by bring and share parish party with bouncy castle.

Patronal Festival: can you help?
At the party on Sunday 14th July we need:
– Food and drink to share
– Volunteers to offer face painting for children
– Volunteers to supervise the bouncy castle

Donations to defray festival expenses would be very welcome. Could you give £10 towards the £95 cost of the bouncy castle? Could you give £100 towards the £1000 cost of the music over the festival?
