Parish News: The Fourteenth Sunday and Week of the Year

July 5, 2024 by Guy Willis

When Jesus chooses not to heal in his home town because of their lack of faith, it shows us that healing in a more general sense only comes from our relationship with God. To have that relationship we need to believe in the one whom he sent to be born, die and rise for us – Jesus Christ.

You can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: every penny counts! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

You can find the readings for this coming Sunday here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need

Brenda, Cordelia, Lolita, Reece, Vanessa, John and Hugh.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s, the recently departed and those whose year’s mind falls this week.
Our candidates for baptism and confirmation; those recently ordained priest and deacon.

Donations to defray festival expenses would be very welcome. Could you give £10 towards the £95 cost of the bouncy castle? Could you give £100 towards the £1000 cost of the music over the festival?

The cover art this week is Jesus is rejected in his home-town by Jerome Nadal SJ from his book Evangelicae Historiae Imagines (Illustrations of the Gospel Stories), 1593.
