This Sunday marks the half way point to Easter. On a long journey we need to stop and take refreshment and the same is true of our path through Lent. So on this Sunday the liturgical mood is lightened from deep purple to rose pink; a glimpse of the glory of the resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is also Mothering Sunday when we give thanks to God for our mothers and for Mary, Mother of God and spiritual mother of all Christians. The readings for this Sunday are available here. Please pray for: The Faithful departed The cover art is The Return of the Prodigal Son by Pompeo Batoni (1708–1787). Held in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. |
