Parish News: Corpus Christi and the 12th Week of the Year

June 20, 2025 by Guy Willis

In the feast of Corpus Christi we give thanks to God for the great gift of the Blessed Sacrament. It reminds us that when we come to church together for the mass, we are not only remembering Jesus but we are present with him, and he is present with us. By that daily and weekly encounter we are strenthened for our journey through this life on earth and prepared for the eternal banquet in heaven.

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

The readings for this Sunday are available here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Brenda, Reece, John, Chinye, Cheryl, Ann, Mana and Chika.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s, those who have died recently amongst them Indrani Kanagasabay and those whose year’s mind falls about this time.
Those to be ordained deacon
John Laverick for All Hallows Tottenham, Oliver Baldwin for All Hallows Gospel Oak, Sam Williams for OMHR Clerkenwell, Nathan Barrett for St Mary’s Hayes, Georges Iskandar for St Benet’s Kentish Town.
Those to be ordained priest
William Allen for St James Paddington and Simon Billington for St Michael’s Wood Green.

Father Stephen Miller will be instituted and collated as vicar of SS Peter and Paul Enfield Lock EN3 6AB on Wednesday 25th June at 7pm. Do go and support him if you are able.

Georges Iskandar is to be ordained  to the sacred order of Deacon by our bishop Jonathan at 11am this coming  Saturday 28th June at Saint Andrew Holborn, EC4A 3AF. I hope to see many of you there as are able to support him. Do please all pray for him!

On Sunday 6th July Jonathan our Bishop will be here to celebrate Mass with Confirmation for us on the Sunday of St Benedict; it will be followed by a parish party with a bring and share lunch. Please make sure this date is in your diary to support our candidates and the parish!

Father William Allen invites us to his first mass on 1st July at 6.30pm, St James’s Sussex Gardens W2 3UD.

Father Reg Bushau invites us to a mass of thanksgiving for 50 years of priesthood on 5th July at 3pm, All Saints Margaret Street W1W 8JG
