Parish News: Patronal Festival of Saint Benedict

July 4, 2025 by Guy Willis

This Sunday is a cause for double celebration; we keep the feast of our heavenly patron, Saint Benedict, who supports us by his prayers. We also have four candidates for confirmation who will be receiving this sacrament at the hands of our Bishop, Jonathan, who will be with us. The mass will be followed by a bring and share lunch in the hall, with bouncy castle and face painting for children. So please: pray for our candidates, come, bring and share!

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

The readings for this Sunday are not available online.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Brenda, Reece, John, Chinye, Cheryl, Ann, Mana, Chika, Sonny and Alessandro
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped and served here, those who have died recently, amongst them Gillian Butt, and those whose year’s mind falls about this time, amongst them Anna Porter (9th) and Emmanuel Gbadebo (12th).
Those confirmed this Sunday.
