To the Pharisees to whom Jesus is speaking it seems hardly credible that they should not take the honours due to them. His teaching is truly radical and remains so: everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. We all, from the greatest to the least in this world, share the same end and judge. The readings for this coming Sunday are available here. Please pray for: Dates for your diary: Monday 8th September, 7pm: St Mary Brookfield, NW5 1SL. Solemn Mass for the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary followed by supper. Friday 3rd October, 6.45-10pm: Harvest Barn Dance, here at St Benet’s. |
