Parish News: The 26th Sunday and Week of the Year

September 26, 2025 by Guy Willis

The finely dressed man in this Sunday’s Gospel thought that his possessions made him rich, but it is the poor man Lazarus who is in paradise. Beautiful and fine objects are there for us to use – we must not make the mistake of allowing them to use us.

*** Friday 3rd October, 6.45-10pm: Harvest Barn Dance, here at St Benet’s. Pro band & caller; Free nibbles; Bar; All star raffle. £6 adult, £3 child. BOOK HERE or pay on the door. ***

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

The readings for this coming Sunday are available here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Brenda, Reece, John, Chinye, Cheryl, Ann, Mana, Chika, Alessandro, Sonny, Jan, Danielle and Grace.
The Faithful departed
