Parish News: The Most Holy Trinity

May 29, 2026 by Guy Willis

On the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, we meditate on the nature of God: three distinct persons in one substance, ever one and ever three. But this is not just a theological detail of academic interest, rather it cuts to the core of the truth about reality. God exists, and has always existed, as a relationship – and we can neither comprehend oursevles nor our redemption unless we consider this fundamental fact.

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

The readings for this Sunday can be found here.

Please pray for:
Those to be ordained
Deacon: Felix Trimbos for St Silas and Holy Trinity, Kentish Town.
Priest: Antonio Jospeh for St Michael, Croydon; John Laverick for All Hallows Tottenham;  Sam Williams for Our Most Holy Redeemer, Clerkenwell; Oliver Baldwin for All Hallows Gospel Oak; Nathan Barrett for St Mary Hayes, and Georges Iskandar for St Benet and All Saints, Kentish Town.
The sick and those in need
Brenda, Reece, John, Cheryl, Ann, Chika, Sonny, Danielle, Grace and Mary.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped and served here, those who have died recently, amongst them Alessandro Betoja, Lorna Kiden, Jan Besser Patrick McGrath and those whose year’s mind falls about this time, amongst them John Rich (1st), Indrani Kanagasabay (5th) and Peter Reynolds (6th).

Father Georges Iskandar is to be ordained  to the Priesthood at 5pm on Sunday 28th June at St Andrew Holborn, EC4A 3AF. It would be good if as many of us as possible were able to go and support him on that occasion.

Father Georges will celebrate a Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving on Monday 29th June at 7pm here at St Benets. The mass will be followed by drinks.

On Sunday 5th July at 11am Jonathan our bishop will be here on the Sunday of St Benedict; mass will be followed by a party and a bring and share lunch. Please be sure to come to support our candidates and plan what food you are going to bring to share.

We are invited to join the people of Holy Trinity, Hoxton N1 7QG for their Feast of Title this afternoon at 4pm. The preacher will be Fr David Houlding SSC.

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting will take place after mass today. Please stay if you are able!
