In the Gospel of the Transfiguration, in which the disciples see Christ’s divinity shining through, they are treated to a sneak preview of the heavenly realities to which they and we are called. Reading this passage at the start of Lent reminds us of the destination we have in mind as we begin our journey of prayer, fasting and charity. The readings for this Sunday are available here.
