Details of all our Lent activities at St Benet’s:
Ash Wednesday
Wednesday 26th February is Ash Wednesday. It marks the beginning of Lent and is one of the holiest days in the Christian year when we are invited to recall our mortality by receiving blessed ash on our foreheads. Do, please, try to make time for the 7.30 pm Sung Mass on that evening.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross will take place most Fridays in Lent at 7.00 pm (i.e. 6th, 13th, 20th March & 3rd April), and be followed by Mass at 7.30 pm. As a result of this, the Friday morning Mass will usually be cancelled.

The Infinite Vision: St Augustine and the formation of the Western Mind
Given by The Revd Dr Dominic Keech.
St Augustine of Hippo (354-430) is one of the towering intellects of the patristic period. Dr Dominic Keech will explore with us some of the ways in which Augustine’s writings have influenced Western thought and continue to shape our theological and philosophical imagination.
Dominic Keech is a scholar of St Augustine and published in 2012 a substantial work on St Augustine’s christology under the title, “The Anti-Pelagian Christology of Augustine of Hippo.” He is Vicar of St Nicholas of Myra, Brighton, and is a popular speaker and teacher.
