Parish News: Baptism & Confirmation on the 30th Sunday of the Year

October 21, 2022 by Guy Willis

This Sunday Jonathan our Bishop will be coming to celebrate the Mass and to confer the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation on our candidates. Please continue to pray for them and make every effort to be there on Sunday to support them!

You can read the scriptures for this week here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Conor, Chinye, Adelida, Jason, Rod, Edny, John, Yen, John & Sarah.

The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s and those whose year’s mind falls this week amongst them Oludemi Ademosu (23rd).

All are invited to the Fulham Lay Congress which will take place on Saturday 19th November 2022 at St Andrew’s, Holborn. 10.30 am to 3pm. The theme is ‘Anointed: living as prophets, priests and monarchs’, and will consist of a key note address by be His Eminence Archbishop Angaelos, Coptic Orthodox Archbishop of London. This will be followed by opportunities for discussion and fellowship, and encouragement in practical ways of living out our baptismal vocation in our parishes.

Wine tasting evening with Margaret Harvey, Master of Wine: ‘Pinot Noir around the Commonwealth.’
We will taste four red wines, all made from the same grape and all from Commonwealth countries. Light nibbles included. Friday 25th November, 7pm. Tickets: £20 via bit.ly/SBKTWINE22 or cash or card to Ernest after Mass.

The cover art is The Pharisee and the Tax Collector by Bryn Gillette, a contemporary American artist.

If you worship regularly at St Benets join the electoral roll. Paper forms available from Fr Guy or by filling in the online form by clicking here.
