Parish News: Fourth Sunday and Week of Advent

On this final Sunday of Advent we hear how Saint Joseph did something courageous. At the prompting of God he did what he now knew to be right and became the foster father of Jesus. In this he shows us an essential character of God’s fatherhood for us: of unconditional love and care despite the complexities of life.

The Faithful departed
The recently departed, all who have worshipped in and served at Saint Benet’s and those whose year’s mind falls this week.

The Advent appeal is to support the local Saint Vincent de Paul charity who will help families in our area. We have now raised and donated £554 which will be greatly appreciated. Today is your last chance to add to this if you would like to. You can use any method to donate; just let Father Guy or Ernest know that it is for the Advent Appeal.

At 7pm on the 20th of December there will be informal carol singing at the back of church organised by the Homezone community association with the usual refreshments.
