On the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, we meditate on the nature of God: three distinct persons in one substance, ever one and ever three. But this is not just a theological detail of academic interest: it cuts to the core of the truth about reality. God exists, and has always existed, as a relationship. So our relationship with God and with each other is fudamental. You can find the readings for this coming Sunday here. From Advent we will be updating the version of the scriptures that we use to the English Standard Version (ESV). It is a modern equivalent of the classic King James Version (Authorized Version). Please consider sponsoring one or more volumes of the new books which we will use at mass: Lectionary Sunday Edition – £148.70 per volume (4 vols available) Lectionary Weekday Edition – £83.94 per volume (4 vols available) If you sponsor a volume there is an opportunity to place a dedication plate in it. For example, you could give a volume in memory of a loved one or in thanksgiving to God. Speak to or email Father Guy if you are interested in supporting our worship in this way. The cover art this week is The Trinity with Christ Crucified. Austria, about 1410. Held in the National Gallery. |
