Parish News: 33rd Sunday and Week of the Year

November 14, 2025 by Guy Willis

Humans often speak as if we are in complete control: of the economy, of the climate, of our own lives. The truth is that we are not the masters we think we are. This Sunday’s readings remind us that one day the world as we know it will pass away, when Jesus comes again to judge the living and dead at the end of time. But we are not called to be fatalisitc in this knowledge – but hopeful.

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

The readings for this Sunday are available here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Brenda, Reece, John, Chinye, Cheryl, Ann, Mana, Chika, Alessandro, Sonny, Jan, Danielle and Grace.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped and served here, those who have died recently and those whose year’s mind falls about this time, amongst them Robert Harrison (16th) and Paul Wilkins (22nd).
