Parish News: The 29th Sunday and Week of the Year

October 17, 2025 by Guy Willis

It seems that often those who commit evil deeds go unpunished, whilst those who try to do what is good are unrecognised. Jesus’s first disciples thought the same. And so he encouraged them, and encourages us, always to pray and not to lose heart – for in the final judgement, all will be held to account.

St Benet’s is self supporting: we receive no regular central church or government funding, so you can donate using card online to support St Benet’s: and every penny really does count! You can also donate by cash or card in person, by texting BENET followed by your donation amount to 70450 to give that amount. Or why not set up a regular standing order with your bank?

The readings for this coming Sunday are available here.

Please pray for:
The sick and those in need
Brenda, Reece, John, Chinye, Cheryl, Ann, Mana, Chika, Alessandro, Sonny, Jan, Danielle and Grace.
The Faithful departed
All who have worshipped and served here, those who have died recently and those whose year’s mind falls about this time, amongst them Edie Ellis (20th), Oludemi Ademosu (24th).

On Sunday 19 October at 5pm we are invited to St Luke’s, 450 Uxbridge Road W12 0NS for their patronal festival. The preacher will be the Rt Revd Dom Cuthbert Brogan OSB, Abbot of St Michael’s Abbey, Farnborough. Followed by drinks and supper.
